I’ll admit it, I’ve never been very “tree-huggerish.”  Yes, it’s a word, I just made it up!  No really, I do believe in taking care of the planet and not being irresponsible about it, but I’ve never been gung ho crazy about it.  We recycle (some things – we are getting better).  We don’t take unnecessary trips in the car (most of the time).  We try and re-use or re-purpose items.  But….honestly, I should be better.

After being involved in the Clear The Air Challenge, I felt like I needed to better educate my little kiddos on taking care of the planet.  Well, let’s be honest, they aren’t going to sit down and listen to me talk about what we should do.  Ok, maybe they would a little, but since I’m no expert.  I decided to let the pro do it for me.

So I called in The Lorax!  I LOVED this movie.  Honestly.  Even though I’m not a huge enviornmentalist.  I felt like this movie had an important message and it was done really well.  Even better, my girls REALLY love it!  The movie itself is bright and colorful and the characters are Awesome.  Well, it is Dr Seuss after all!  We also love the music.  Watch out, it just might get stuck in your head.

As far as kid friendly movies go, it doesn’t get much better than this one!  We really enjoyed watching this movie and we will continue to watch it again and again.

If you haven’t picked up this awesome movie already, you can grab it at Mommy Bear Media for a Great price.  Plus, it will ship FREE!  (You know I love free shipping)  You can grab the DVD or get the Blu-ray/DVD Combo.  I grabbed the Blu-ray combo.  I think it is a MUCH better deal.

  • Before I began working for Dish, I did a few lectures for some local colleges about the importance of recycling. So, needless to say, my son was familiar with the Lorax before we even saw it on film. We just got it from Blockbuster at Home last night and my son loves it. I must say I am a bit of a fan as well. The addition storyline was a little shaky, but the animation would have been worth it alone. He as also been playing the extras non stop. I am happy It’s so cheap to rent two discs at once because I don’t think he is going to let me send that one back for another week.
