Time to Conquer! Week 1: A Pleasant Surprise

Diet Bird Cartoon Time to Conquer! Week 1: A Pleasant Surprise

Well, I am at the end of week one of my new adventure!  Time to weigh in (pun intended – of course).

It has been a busy and interesting week.  I have had my highs and my lows.  No question about it.

This week I went off all refined and processed sugar.  As you can imagine, with that came some decent headaches and some very tired days.  Surprisingly, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be…and I DIDN’T DIE!  Can you believe it.  I survived going off of sugar.  I had heard that it would be possible to live without refined sugar, but I am now walking living proof.  Amazing!  ;)

Family Diet Cartoon Time to Conquer! Week 1: A Pleasant SurpriseThe biggest and most surprising turn of events hasn’t been with my diet itself but with my family.  My hubby surprised me by not only supporting me (which he has always told me that he would do) but by going along with me.  He is watching his calories and eating smaller portions.

I am so excited for him to join me in this journey.  He isn’t doing the exact same thing that I am, but I know that he will loose weight and will be great!  We have gained this weight together (for the most part).  And I am thrilled that he wants to join me in getting healthier for ourselves and our girls.

So….here is my week one weigh in (cue the drum roll):  I lost 7 pounds in the first week. I am thrilled.  I already have more energy and can’t wait to continue.  This weeks goal is to make sure I get my water every day.

I would love to hear what you are doing to help yourself live healthier.

You did, you told me you liked my hair. That is always a complement on weight loss when you are first loosing and people don’t know it. Plus, 7 pounds on me isn’t very much. It will take a long time for people to really start noticing. I’m ok with that. :)

About Becky

I am the frugal minded mom to two adorable little girls and wife to an amazing husband. They are my number one priority. I have been going through a major weight loss journey and have lost 100 pounds! I'm still losing weight but my focus is in living healthy and doing it on a budget. I have always loved finding a great deal. I can remember clipping coupons and rebates with my grandma as a very little girl. Now, as a wife to a hard working Jr High teacher, saving money and being frugal is a necessity. I love being able to provide things for my family that we need and want without breaking our budget in the process.
