Hurricane Florence may be long gone, but the destruction she left in her wake to many small communities in North Carolina is devastating. I have a lot of family that lives in North Carolina, so I get continued updates in my newsfeed with videos of roads completely destroyed by the floods and entire neighborhoods no longer inhabitable without drastic cleanup efforts. Yet they’re still awaiting government assistance from FEMA to do so. Many kids haven’t even returned to school!
