All the details:

A beautiful new salon and spa, La Belle Vie, opens its doors in Pleasant Grove with a huge grand opening celebration scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This exciting event will feature local musicians and artists, $5 specials, refreshments, and giveaways.

On the day of the grand opening, all regularly-priced services will be discounted, including haircuts, color, perms, extensions, manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, and massages. In addition, there will also be one-day special services for only $5: Foot Soak, Paraffin Hand or Foot Treatment, Mani or Pedi Nail Polish, Bang Trim, and Facial Waxing.

Carol Zabriskie, the owner, explains how the name for the salon was chosen. She says, “La Belle Vie is French for ‘the beautiful life’. We have taken this as our motto in the salon and in life… Because life IS beautiful!”

The calming décor helps clients de-stress and enjoy services and treatments. There are four pedicure stations, eight hair stations, three skin service and massage therapy rooms, and a separate shampoo spa. Zabriskie explains, “Our goal is to help you relax and unwind so you can better enjoy the beauty around you.”

The salon and spa is centrally located at 145 S. Pleasant Grove Boulevard in Pleasant Grove (by the wall mural across from Macey’s and Walgreens, just off I-15 exit 275). This convenient location offers easy access for residents of Pleasant Grove, American Fork, Cedar Hills, and Lindon.

Local artists Luke Harris, April Elizabeth Gee, Marilyn Nielson, and others will have their work on display and for sale at the Grand Opening.

From 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. a musical group called Knocking Off Squash, who got their name one Thanksgiving after hefty portions of pumpkin pie, will play. This folk band is comprised of Kathy Jex, a sultry alto percussionist; Keri Orr, a bass guitarist whose soprano voice has been likened to summer sunshine; Steve Orr, lead guitarist and booming bass singer; and Matt Orr, who has a manly, “yes, manly”, tenor voice and plays rhythm guitar. Also playing during the afternoon hours is CB Jazz, featuring “cool band jazz” tunes, hence the name. Known for their big band sound, CB Jazz is always a hit at weddings, dances, and other local events.

Refreshments will be served from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. There will also be exciting door prizes, which include gift baskets, free services, and gift certificates.
