The other day my husband and I went to Kohl’s to buy him a dress shirt that was advertised on a sale for $12.99. Normally I don’t like to spend over $10.00 on any clothing item but occasionally I will. When we got to Kohl’s we actually didn’t like the quality of the advertised shirt so we upgraded to a better one that was $19.99. He really needed a plain white shirt, otherwise we would have waited for a better deal. Every time we shop we look through all of the clearance racks and shelves in any store we go in to. This is what I ended up bringing home.

It’s hard to see everything but here’s what is in this fabulous haul! The shirt of course for hubby, 10 pairs of shorts for growing teenage girls, one mug, one towel, one pair of shoes, and one pair of dress slacks. Here is my receipt.

As you can see my subtotal was $78.85. I had a 20% off my total purchase  coupon that saved me $15.77. Out the door my total was $67.34. I saved $397.88 (the shoes alone were $59.99 regular price, I paid less than $5.00). Here’s the kicker, at the very bottom you’ll see I also got $10.00 in Kohl’s cash to go back and use between 10/27 and 11/12. My same coupon I can use again because it’s good until 10/29. Chances are that there are going to be more clearance items added to the mix which equals more super hot deals!!

Anytime you can combine sale and clearance items with a coupon and a store promotion you will come home with lots of great deals. The best clearance prices are found after the season is over. Kids usually grow one size between seasons depending on the age (babies grow faster). As for adults I stay away from the trendy items that tend to go out of style that way they are still wearable the next season. I also Christmas shop all year round shopping this way, it saves me a ton of money!
